Mr Gary Burdock is a 5th degree black belt and DMAA Chief Instructor, who has over 20 years experience in ITF Taekwondo and has been Instructing since 2000. He has helped many students achieve their personal training and fitness goals. He has guided a student to Women’s ITF World Champion in both Patterns and Sparring and several students who have medalled at World, European, British and English Championships. Gary enjoys running in his spare time and has completed five half marathons. Most recently, he was part of a five man team who came 1st in their category at Plymouth’s ‘Hope 24’ endurance event in 2015.
Mr Stuart Toghill is a 5th degree blackbelt. He has many years of TaekwonDo experience, having trained in both ITF and WTF styles, gaining his black belt in 1990. He also trained in Karate before that. His philosophy is that everything we do should be ‘fit for purpose’, especially when it comes to self defence. By increasing our understanding, we can increase our effectiveness. Stuart is also a qualified psychotherapist and interested in promoting TaekwonDo as a fantastic way to improve mental health.
Mr Sam Norton is a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo and a 2nd degree black belt in Kickboxing. Starting at the age of 4, Sam has accrued over 16 years’ experience training and teaching. Sport is a way of life to him and Taekwondo has shaped his character and confidence. His passion is coaching others and shaping lives. Sam holds a BA degree in Sports Coaching and Physical Education. He is also a self-employed sports coach and has established himself in many local primary schools. Sam’s other passion is football, he is a qualified Level 5 referee for Devon FA
Mr Kevin Hamill is a 3rd degree black belt who has over 12 years experience in Taekwondo, half of which he has spent coaching. Kevin is an active sportsman and brings a cross training and fitness element to every Discovery session. As a surfer, long distance runner, cyclist, swimmer and triathlete he regularly competes in endurance & ex terra events, time trials, marathons, ultra marathons, triathlons and duathlons – basically taking every opportunity he can to stretch and test his body and mind.
All DMAA Instructors are DBS checked and are trained in first aid.
