Junior Classes for 6-12 yrs
At Discovery Martial Arts Academy we teach traditional ITF Taekwondo. Each Junior session is filled with a mix of quick, brilliant & skilful sparring (which we start from Junior level upwards), pad-work, flexibility, kicking drills, traditional patterns, blocks, strikes and self defence moves.
Our ethos is to use the fitness elements of Taekwondo to maximum benefit, to achieve a great workout, hone skill and develop the art form and sport to its highest level possible.
- Results are quick: Train to gain core strength, peak body conditioning, technique and character; Train to boost mind and body performance; Train to lose weight and tone up.
- Train 5 days a week at venues across Plymouth, Plympton and Plymstock. Compete regularly with other clubs.
- TEENS: Did you know that Taekwondo qualifies as a GCSE PE sport? Good to know if you are choosing GCSE PE as one of your options. It also gives you lots of opportunities to develop leadership skills and looks great on any CV. Especially if you rise up the ranks, gain your black belt and live by the tenets of Taekwondo – courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit.
Me and my family have been training with Mr Burdock since we were all white belts and complete beginners to martial arts. We’ve got fit together and made great friends on our journey. My kids love his classes and we wouldn’t want to train under anyone else.
